Austin Butler is giving us all the 80s Miami energy we never knew we needed. Spotted on the set of Miami Vice ‘85, where he plays Sonny Crockett, the actor leans against a street pole in a breezy, pastel look that proves a simple palette can make a big statement.

The look starts with a soft mint-green henley with short sleeves and a deep, open placket. It has a slightly slouchy, lived-in drape that keeps things relaxed while still showing off the retro attitude. He pairs it with high-waisted, pleated white trousers in a flowy wide-leg cut. The roomy silhouette and crisp color are a throwback to classic 80s tailoring, and they look cool and comfortable in the heat.

The accessories finish it off. Black Wayfarer-style sunglasses add some edge, and a gold bracelet watch gives the outfit a bit of old-school luxury. White shoes peek out from under the hem of the trousers to keep the whole look clean and monochrome. It’s an easy formula to borrow for your next warm-weather outing: soft color on top, white on the bottom, and a little gold.
